In the Netherlands, IFF took over the new facilities of Dupont, formerly Genencor Leiden (Danisco), led by Hans de Nobel and his R&D team.
In 2020, IFF Nutrition & Biosciences established a new office on Willem Einthovenstraat in the Leiden BioScience Park. This global leader in biotechnology has been developing innovative solutions for food, beverages, health, and personal care for over 130 years. The project for the new facility was awarded after a competitive tender to a consortium including Ector Hoogstad Architects, Dura Vermeer, ABT, and L3Q.
The project
Labolutions and its sister company Labs31 supported the Wesemann Group in the tender process for the lab setup and provided technical laboratory consultancy services. Labolutions and Labs31 also carried out the BIM REVIT digitization for the Wesemann Group. The BIM REVIT clash detection proved highly efficient during both the pre-design phase and operational installation, ensuring all elements seamlessly connected with Labs31’s BIM REVIT laboratory program.
After the project assignment, Labolutions and Labs31 collaborated with various Dupont (IFF) stakeholders, including lab technicians, lab managers, and safety managers, to finalize the lab configuration. Approximately 65% of the project focused on lab furniture and fume hoods, while 35% was dedicated to laboratory equipment. The project also included managing the procurement of third-party laboratory equipment such as laminar flow cabinets, safety cabinets, incubators, and (ultra-low) refrigerators and freezers. Additionally, Labolutions and Labs31 were actively involved in daily project coordination and management.
